The Race Club Media Day

With Olympic champions, national heroes and future stars all together in one pool, The Race Club has a deep pool of talent. Arluck Promotions helped set up a media day to connect numerous national media outlets with the club’s elite swimmers. ??

With the Beijing Games looming and athletes soon headed across the globe to compete in the 2008 Games, Arluck Promotion’s helped secure media for a special day on June 11th in Islamorada , Florida in which members of the media observed a full squad workout and participated in a meet and greet with The Race Club’s cast of international athletes. ?? Among the swimmers reporters were able to spend time with included: George Bovell, the only athlete from Trinidad and Tobago to win a medal in Athens, Gary Hall Jr., a 10-time Olympic Medalist who won gold in Athens, Milorad Cavic, a Serbian swimmer who took gold at the 2008 European Championships, Salim Iles, a former Algerian Sportsman of the Year who is a two-time medalist at the World Championships, Ricky Busquets, a four-time Olympian and the only athlete from Puerto Rico to ever medal in the World Championships, and Nathan Adrian who won double gold at the 2008 World Championships. ??

Pundits from the Associated Press, Washington Post, Miami Herald and the TV Guide Channel were among the media entities to attend the event. The Associated Press distributed this video on The Race Club. On June 18, The Washington Post released a special on The Race Club member Nathan Adrian. Earlier in the day, Good Morning America aired a piece on Hall and the new Speedo Lazer Racer competition suits. ??

Management of The Race Club is a family affair. Gary Hall, Jr. is the president of the swim organization, his father, Hall, Sr., also a three time Olympian, is the Vice President, and his sister Bebe and cousin Christina Boland manage the elite team and camps. The Race Club was founded in 2003 by Hall, Jr. with David Arluck.

A mix of professional, collegiate and international swimmers, the athletes feed off of one another as training partners. Known for their expertise in sprint events, The Race Club develops potential and drops times. ??The Race Club coach, Mike Bottom, was recently hired on as the head coach at swimming powerhouse, University of Michigan.
