Mark Gangloff Presents Award to Young Indiana Swimmer

Eight of thirteen members of the Michigan City Piranhas swim time earned medals at the 2013 Age Group State Championships, and one lucky Piranha got to meet Olympian Mark Gangloff.  Gangloff, a two time gold medalist, competed in the 2004 and 2008 Olympics and also served as team captain.  Ali Hakim, age 12, earned gold medals in the 50 and 100 backstroke, silver in the 200 individual medley, bronze for the 200 free, as well as two relay medals.  All of this success earned Hakim the High Point Trophy Award, which was presented by Gangloff.

Mark Gangloff is currently an assistant coach at the University of Missouri, and considered one “of the most prolific clinic-givers in the country,” so his jump to coaching has been a perfect fit.
